Maternity

This is only the second maternity session that I have done. And the first one where the baby was the couple's first born. There is just something deliciously sweet about a couple expecting their first child. The waiting and expectation of being first time parents. I know these two are going to do so great! Baby C is one lucky boy! And by the way...I was nervous and excited shooting this session because Joshua the "Dad to be" is an awesome photographer. I'll be honest, it was a little intimidating but a great learning experience. They were such an easy couple to shoot. Joshua understood lighting and poses so it made setting up shots really easy for me. I had been working on shooting sun flare photos on the side and was happy when he suggested trying it out. I was so pleased with the effect and it was really fun trying out a technique I have been playing around with. I love love love light and trying to capture unique images!

W family

I love taking pictures of new families of 4. I identify so completely with loving big siblings and parents trying to teach gentleness. We work on it at my house every day! Big sis loves her 3 month old brother that's for sure! And who wouldn't want to pinch these cheeks!

Curls!!!

I'm editing pictures today and just had to get a post up. These curls deserve a post of their own don't you think??? AMAZING!!!
And just in case you are wondering where this pretty curly top got those locks from...check out her mommy!!!! So pretty!

J family

Taking pictures for this sweet family made my day. They have two boys, the youngest is my sons' and immediately he recognized his picture when I was editing. They had been in the same VBS classroom all week so I guess they bonded! Such a fun family! We had some silly laughs and avoided a couple melt downs with monkey faces. Thanks J family for letting me capture some moments for you!!!

Big News!

This was such a fun shoot. My dear friend Laura and her hubby are expecting #2!!! Whoop whoop. And she asked for some family announcement pictures. On her awesome DIY blog The Turquoise Home she tells her story of secondary infertility. She is such an encouragement to so many and I am overjoyed that the Lord is choosing to bless her and her family in this way. His plans are perfect. Praise the Lord!
We even braved some major thunderstorms for these pictures. But we didn't get struck by lightning and captured these before the bottom fell out. Probably my most "thrilling" photo shoot so far!
